Living in a Good Way with Dogs: Our Stories is a culturally-responsive educational resource developed by First Nations for First Nations, with the support of the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW). Targeting teachers, this program provides a comprehensive curriculum for Canadian students, exploring the historical and contemporary role of dogs in Indigenous communities.
By addressing topics such as dog care, community safety, and cultural significance, it empowers students to develop responsible and compassionate relationships with dogs. Through engaging activities, stories, and cultural teachings, students learn about the importance of treating dogs with kindness, respect, and understanding. This program not only benefits individual students but also contributes to the overall well-being of First Nations communities.
