Hoedspruit Animal Outreach (HALO) is a volunteer-run NGO based in Hoedspruit, Limpopo, one of South Africa’s poorest provinces. Their mission is to improve the lives of dogs in the surrounding rural communities, relying on donations to achieve their impact.
HALO works closely with community members on several key projects:
- Vaccination Program: To date, they have vaccinated 14,703 dogs.
- Sterilization Program: They have sterilized 1,495 dogs.
- Ambulance Service: Provides crucial transport for animals in need.
- Education on Animal Kindness: Aims to foster better animal welfare practices within the communities.
HALO is a recognized Rabies Center of Excellence.
