Mission Rabies, a project of Worldwide Veterinary Services (WVS), successfully vaccinated 26,861 dogs and sterilized 225 animals in Blantyre City during its tenth mass rabies vaccination campaign. The campaign this year vaccinated an impressive 86% of the dog population. Since the campaign began in 2015, rabies incidents have decreased from one of the highest in Africa to one of the lowest, especially in children. Additionally, the initiative raised awareness about rabies prevention and treatment, how to avoid dog bites, and what to do if bitten.
