AnimalKind by BC SPCA
AnimalKind, the BC SPCA’s accreditation and referral program developed in partnership with the UBC Animal Welfare Program, helps consumers identify animal-friendly businesses by verifying their adherence to strict, science-based animal welfare standards. The program currently focuses on accrediting dog trainers and pest control companies (with standards for other businesses in development).

The SPCA partners with select pet care businesses, including doggy daycares, to achieve SPCA Certification, assuring pet owners of high-quality care. Currently focused on doggy daycare, an SPCA Certified doggy daycare guarantees your dog’s needs are met, including socialization, relaxation, play, security, and compassionate care. The SPCA is expanding its certification program to include other pet care services.

Animal Activity Star Rating System
The UK government assigns star ratings (1-5) to licensed animal activity providers based on their adherence to government standards. This rating system applies to breeders, boarding services, and pet shops, among others
Dog Friendly Vet Clinic Scheme by Dogs Trust and the British Veterinary Behaviour Association
The scheme provides veterinarians with training on canine behavior, including species-typical communication and learning, and guidance on creating a stress-free and positive environment for dogs during veterinary visits.
